VOH Fall Gala – Myth, Magic & Mystery!
Myth, Magic, & Mystery
Where the impossible becomes possible!
Voices of Hope (VOH) invites you to join them for a musical adventure that blendsMyth, Magic, and Mystery into a captivating theatrical show to support cancer research at their 17th Annual Fall Gala!
This single-night benefit will be held on Saturday, October 4, at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, continuing Voices ofHope’s mission to achieve a cancer-free world!
Let your imagination soar as we welcome you to an enchanted evening of musical storytelling where legends come to life, mysteries unfold, and magical moments transport you to a world where the impossible becomes possible. Could the heroes of mythical stories, like Hadestown or Hercules, be real? Does the power of magic lie in spells and potions, or in believing in yourself? Where does mystery end, and discovery begin?
Challenge yourself to see beyond the impossible, as we peek behind the masks and curtains, and reveal a reality that could change how people see the world
Join us for a journey that will stir your soul, spark wonder, and challenge your sense of reality as you visit the whimsical dreamscape of Willy Wonka’s “Pure Imagination”. Peel back the masks to uncover the illusions of “Façade” and “Masquerade” and celebrate your inner strength with the empowering anthems of “Freak Flag” ,“Defying Gravity” and “Go the Distance”. Explore the magical myths behind “Superstition”, “I Put a Spell on You”, and “Love Potion #9”, visit the chaotic world of “Wonderland, ” then “Ease on Down the Road” into the magical land of our OZ Medley.
Lifted by incredible vocals, powerful dance and an 18-piece orchestra, these magical melodies, haunting ballads, and electrifying showstoppers celebrate resilience, transformation, and the power of belief. The evening concludes with a call to action in “Come Alive”—a lively finale that encourages us all to step into the light, see beyond the impossible, and join VOH in believing that TOGETHER, we can make a world without cancer POSSIBLE!
Adding to the excitement, the Gala will feature Broadway power couple Matt DeAngelis and Christine Dwyer. Both hailing from Boston’s North Shore and married in 2018, Matt and Christine have more than 3,000 performances between them on Broadway and Broadway national tours. Matt has appeared in Hair, Rent, Waitress, and Broadway’s recent debut production, Swept Away. Christine has flown across the U.S. in more than 1,000 performances as Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked and has also appeared in Rent and Waitress. Earlier this summer, both starred as leads in North Shore Music Theatre’s production of Waitress, where they learned of our mission to make cancer history, and their own personal connection to cancer and related philanthropy inspired them to participate in Voices of Hope’s production of Myth, Magic, & Mystery.
They will join VOH’s all-volunteer, multi-generational cast, which consistently exceeds expectations as they infuse each joyful and inspirational performance with a genuine bond and shared mission to make cancer history. Weaving together an engrossing blend of song, dance, and personal stories, Voices of Hope will touch your hearts and minds as you witness the remarkable impact this organization has achieved.
